A senior representative of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) from Kazakhstan has been honored with Uzbekistan’s prestigious national award “Yangi O‘zbekiston Yulduzlari” (Stars of New Uzbekistan).
The award ceremony took place in Tashkent and was broadcast live on ZORTV, according to TuraNews.kz citing BAQ.KZ. Arman Nurmakhamatuly, Head of the Culture and Arts Department at TURKSOY and Honored Cultural Figure of Kazakhstan, won first place in the nomination “Best Promoter of Uzbek Culture Abroad.” The winners were determined through a public vote.
In his remarks, Nurmakhamatuly highlighted the importance of strengthening cultural cooperation among Turkic states, describing the award as a shared achievement within the framework of TURKSOY’s initiatives. He also expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture for the recognition.
The award comes amid growing cultural collaboration between Uzbekistan and TURKSOY, particularly following the designation of Andijan as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2026.
