Kazakhstani Terrorism Suspect Extradited from Turkey
On November 16, the National Security Committee (NSC) of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Prosecutor General's Office, successfully extradited a Kazakhstani citizen from Antalya, Türkiye, to Almaty. The individual is suspected of involvement with an international terrorist organization.
According to investigation materials, the suspect had previously traveled to Syria, where he joined an armed group. Later, he moved to Türkiye, where he was apprehended by local authorities.
The NSC confirmed that the suspect voluntarily decided to return to Kazakhstan and expressed willingness to face criminal charges in accordance with the law.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, with the suspect facing charges under Part 2 of Article 257 of the Criminal Code. Upon court approval, the individual was placed in custody.
