The decision announced during the second general assembly of women entrepreneurs in Istanbul, according to The National Independent Multısectoral Assocıatıon of Women’s Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Kazakhstan (ASMAR) press service.
The assembly, which convened over 400 businesswomen from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary – all members of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) – saw discussions on enhancing integration among participating nations. Rifat Hisarciklioglu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, emphasized the significance of diversifying businesses to foster state wealth and highlighted the pivotal role of women’s entrepreneurship in this endeavor.
Representing Kazakhstan at the forum was Lazzat Ramazanova, Chairperson of the National Association of Women Entrepreneurs “ASMAR” and Chairperson of the Atameken Council of Business Women. Ramazanova underscored the robust tradition of collaboration among businesswomen in Turkic states, facilitating the exchange of valuable experiences, ideas, and resources while fostering professional and personal growth.
Assuming leadership of the committee from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan pledges to focus on strategically advancing regional business projects with active female participation. Ramazanova highlighted President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s commitment to women’s business development, noting that over a million small and medium-sized enterprises in Kazakhstan are led by women. She also stressed the importance of women’s roles in addressing global challenges, particularly in transitioning to sustainable economic principles.
In addition to the General Assembly, the Kazakhstan delegation participated in the “Business Forum and B2B Networking Event,” organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) and the Union of Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Established in 2019, the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic Countries serves as an effective platform for enhancing trade and economic cooperation among Turkic states. With Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan as members, the union is poised to foster regional collaboration. Kazakhstan, which officially assumed the chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States in November 2023, will hold this position for 12 months until the next Summit in 2024.
