Kazakhstan to export “Sergek” system to Uzbekistan

"Sergek" intelligent public and road safety system was introduced in Namangan in the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Republic of Uzbekistan exports the “Sergek” video surveillance system in order to reduce traffic accidents and ensure drivers obey traffic rules in Namangan city, Turanews.kz reports citing Basnews.kz

“Sergek” (it means “sensitive, alert” in Kazakh) is a Kazakhstan-based surveillance system. An intelligent video surveillance analysis and prediction system that records violations on city streets and roads.

There will be 25 devices which register violations of traffic rules in 13 sections of the city and regional districts.

The installation of the “Sergek” system has the effect of increasing driver behavior and correspondingly reducing the number of fatal accidents.

In the first year of the system’s operation, the number of people killed in traffic accidents in Astana decreased by 43% — from 60 to 34 accidents, and has remained at the same level in subsequent years.

In Almaty (2019-2022) — from 161 to 96. In Shymkent (2020-2022) — from 76 to 57.

The criminal offences are in many cases detected by police officers using a system of CCTV cameras such as driving a car without license and in a state of alcoholic, narcotic.

The project had launched under the support of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration and the Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry.
