Kazakhstan Faces Defeat Against Sweden in World Cup Hockey Match
In the ongoing World Hockey Championship, Kazakhstan clashed with Sweden in the fourth round of the group stage.
Despite a victorious start against France in the tournament’s opener, Kazakhstan’s team experienced setbacks with consecutive losses to Slovakia and Latvia.
Their latest match saw Galym Mambetaliev’s squad facing off against group leaders, Sweden, ultimately succumbing to a 1:3 defeat.
The Swedish team secured their victory with goals from Marcus Johansson (11th minute), Linus Johansson (36th minute), and Fabian Zetterlund (42nd minute). Notably, Linus Johansson’s goal came during a penalty kill situation. Adil Beketaev (46th minute) scored the lone goal for Kazakhstan.
Following their win against France (3:1), Kazakhstan faced defeats against Slovakia (2:6) and Latvia (0:2). Their upcoming challenge is against Germany on May 17.
It’s worth noting that the top four teams in each group will advance to the playoffs stage.
