Kazakhstan and Armenia Strengthen Cooperation in High-Level Talks
Following their initial meeting in a closed setting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia proceeded with negotiations alongside their respective official delegations, as reported by the Akorda press service.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him, President Tokayev underscored the significance of his inaugural official visit to Armenia. “We are fully committed to elevating Kazakh-Armenian relations to new heights. We hold profound respect for the rich history, ancient culture, and traditions of the Armenian people,” remarked the Head of State.
Against the backdrop of the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, President Tokayev highlighted the enduring foundations of bilateral relations, characterized by vibrant political dialogue and robust intergovernmental and parliamentary ties.
Anticipating positive outcomes from the talks, President Tokayev delineated key areas for advancing bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the imperative of enhancing economic collaboration across diverse sectors, including agriculture, investment, transportation, IT, and construction.
In response, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the significance of President Tokayev’s visit, expressing optimism for the expansion and deepening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia. “Our discussions have encompassed a wide array of topics, spanning economic and political cooperation, regional integration, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges,” noted the Armenian Prime Minister.
Following fruitful negotiations, Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Nikol Pashinyan concluded their talks by signing a Joint Statement. Additionally, several bilateral agreements were inked as part of President Tokayev’s official visit to Yerevan, covering areas such as migration, travel procedures, international road transport, aviation cooperation, regional administration collaboration, tourism, and information technology cooperation, among others.
