Kazakhstan and Amazon web services agree to cooperate on cloud technologies

The President of Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, met with Suasan D. Pointer, the Vice President of the world’s largest technology company, Amazon Web Services (AWS). During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of cloud technologies and the construction of data centers, Turanews.kz reports citing the press service of Akorda.

President Tokayev noted Kazakhstan’s achievements in the field of e-government and emphasized that the further improvement of the digital sphere in the country will require best-in-class infrastructure solutions.

AWS expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan with the prospect of covering the entire Central Asian region.

During the meeting, an Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan (NIT JSC) and AWS on the acquisition of the Outpost cloud solution and the launch of a pilot project for its integration with the QazTech platform.
