Aisultan Seitov’s film “KASH” (Run) has been nominated for two awards at the prestigious Asian Pacific Screen Awards (APSA): Best Film and Best Cinematography. The award ceremony will take place on November 3 in Gold Coast, Australia, TuraNews.kz reports.
“KASH” is a haunting film about the mass famine that struck Kazakhstan in the 1930s. The film follows Isatay, a gravedigger who sets out to save his village from starvation. As he travels through the endless steppe, Isatay is haunted by the forces of space and hunger, which begin to control his mind.
The film has already won numerous awards, including Best Director at the 25th Shanghai Film Festival and four awards from the Kazakhstan Association of Film Critics.
