The draw for the Indian Wells tournament, scheduled to take place from March 6th to 17th in the United States, has been unveiled.

In Indian Wells, Kazakhstan’s top-ranked player and fourth in the world, Elena Rybakina, will face off against either Spain’s Paula Badosa, ranked 73rd, or American Ashlyn Krueger, holding the 71st position. Both players received special invitations to this match.

Another representative from Kazakhstan, Yulia Putintseva, ranked 79th, will play her first match against Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch, ranked 76th globally.

Last year at the Indian Wells tournament, Elena Rybakina emerged victorious, while Yulia Putintseva failed to advance past the first round.

Among the men, Alexander Bublik, ranked 20th in the Indian Wells Masters rankings, will also compete in the second round. He will face either Australian Jordan Thompson, ranked 33rd globally, or one of the winners of the qualifying matches.

Alexander Shevchenko, ranked 51st, will play his first match against Germany’s Dominik Koepfer, who holds a two-position advantage in the global rankings.

In the qualifying matches, Beybit Zhukaev, ranked 191st, fought for a spot in the main draw but was defeated by France’s Harold Mayo, ranked 142nd, with a score of 3:6, 1:6.

Last year, Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz emerged as the tournament champion, defeating Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final. Alexander Bublik, on the other hand, failed to progress past the first round.
