Hatay earthquake: The death toll increases to 6
The number of victims of the earthquake of magnitude 6.4 that occurred on February 20 in Hatay, has reached 6 people and 294 residents were injured, Turanews.kz reportst citing the Anadolu agency.
In the city of Antakya, one person was rescued from the rubble of one of the residential buildings, and the bodies of three people were also removed.
A residential building in the Gazi quarter collapsed on Monday evening under the influence of tremors. Under the rubble were 4 employees of a private transport company who were transporting things from buildings damaged during the February 6 earthquake with the epicenter in Kahramanmarash.
Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu arrived at the disaster area.
Recall, an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 was recorded on February 20 in Turkey, in the Defne region of Hatay province. Later there was another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8. Houses collapsed in southeastern Turkey. Tremors were also felt in Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine.
