Government of Kazakhstan Resigns, First Deputy Prime Minister Takes Over as Acting Prime Minister

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev accepted the government's resignation on Monday, his office said in a statement, naming Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar as acting prime minister.

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reports the Akorda press service.

About the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In accordance with Article 70 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I DECIDE:

1. Accept the resignation of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. Temporarily assign the duties of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Roman Vasilyevich Sklyar.

3. Members of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan continue to perform their duties until the approval of the new composition of the Government.

4. This decree comes into force from the date of signing.
