Fourth Meeting of the “Union of Turkic World Art Universities” Held in Baku

The fourth meeting of the "Union of Turkic World Art Universities" took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. This meeting was held in conjunction with the "2nd Meeting" of the Union, established by TURKSOY, during the "Turkic World Student Theater Festival".

The event was hosted by Prof. Dr. Jeyran Mahmudova, Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. Attendees included TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Arman Judebayev, Rector of the T. Jürgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, Tümenboy Koldoşov, Rector of the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts, Eldor Shermanov, Rector of the Uzbekistan State Institute of Art and Culture, and Prof. Dr. Erhan Özden, Rector of Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts. Also present were TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf and Arife Pehlivan, an expert from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

The meeting focused on various issues including scholarship opportunities for students of culture and arts universities in the Turkic World, student exchange programs, and experience sharing.

Secretary General Sultan Raev highlighted the significant achievements of the Union of Turkic World Art Universities since its inception, particularly noting the success of the Turkic World Student Theater Festival, which is currently in its second iteration in Baku. He emphasized the importance of the Union’s decisions and the substantial contributions of the member universities through new project proposals for collaborative studies.

Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf and YTB Expert Arife Pehlivan presented on the joint scholarship program for art schools in the Turkic World and discussed opportunities in this area.

Additionally, the rectors deliberated on common education curricula, joint documentary projects, song festivals, the signing of cooperation protocols between art schools, and student exchange initiatives.
