Elena Rybakina Reflects On Doha Exit After Quarterfinal Battle

World No. 3 Elena Rybakina has spoken out following her quarterfinal defeat at the WTA 1000 tournament in Doha.

The Kazakh star fell to Canada’s Victoria Mboko in a tightly contested match, 5–7, 6–4, 4–6. The clash lasted two hours and 25 minutes, testing both players physically and mentally.

“It was a tough match, and I’m actually glad I was able to compete at that level. I haven’t played such long matches in a while. In Australia, we always had a rest day between rounds, and apart from the final, I finished all my matches in straight sets. Overall, I believe this tournament was positive for me. I also had to handle some matters off the court, so it’s been good preparation for the upcoming events,” Rybakina told Tennis.com.

The Doha tournament marked her first appearance since lifting the trophy at the 2026 Australian Open, where she claimed her second Grand Slam title.
