Day of National Mourning declared for those killed in border conflict in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan declared September 19th is as a day of national mourning for the citizens who died as a result of the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.

The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov. According to the decreeon the day of national mourning throughout the country, as well as on the buildings of diplomatic and consular institutions abroad, the state flags of the Kyrgyz Republic will be flown at half mast, all entertainment events and programs will be canceled.

Earlier it was reported that clashes on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan began on Wednesday, September 14.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, as a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border from 14th September to 17th September of this year, 36 Kyrgyzstani were killed, another 129 people were hospitalized in medical institutions of the country.
