The asteroid, roughly a meter in size with an albedo of 10%, appeared suddenly and burned up almost immediately, leaving its impact location unknown.
Astronomer Vladimir Surdin noted that the asteroid’s entry posed no threat, as experts had previously reported and assured the public of its safe disintegration.
