Kazakhstan’s national weather service Kazhydromet has issued a warning of unfavorable meteorological conditions expected on February 20, 2026. The advisory applies to Almaty throughout the day and to Astana during nighttime hours.
According to forecasters, calm weather, light winds, fog, and temperature inversion may contribute to the accumulation of pollutants near the ground, leading to a decline in air quality.
During such periods, concentrations of harmful substances in urban areas may rise. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities if possible.
