Armenian Culture Days to be Celebrated in Kazakhstan

The Days of Armenian Culture will be celebrated in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, from October 15 to 16, 2024, according to the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A series of cultural and artistic events will take place as part of the celebrations. The event will kick off with the screening of “The Magical World of Armenian Animation” at the Kinopark 7 IMAX Keruen cinema. Additionally, the Kazakh audience will have the opportunity to watch the feature film Drops of Light, directed by Arman Chilingaryan.

A highlight of the program is a gala concert featuring the Armenian State Jazz Orchestra, to be held at the Kalibek Kuanyshbayev Kazakh National Music and Drama Theater. Founded in 1938, the Armenian State Jazz Orchestra was one of the first jazz ensembles in the Soviet Union and is now recognized globally for its remarkable musicians and diverse repertoire.

Another key event will be a photo exhibition marking the 100th anniversary of renowned filmmaker Sergei Parajanov. The exhibition will display around 45 photographs from the Sergei Parajanov Museum’s archives, showcasing both his daily life and his artistic creations.

The celebration will continue on October 16 with the screening of Yasha and Leonid Brezhnev, a film directed by Edgar Baghdasaryan. The Armenian Culture Days will conclude with the theatrical performance Lyu-Bef by the Amazgayin State Theater, named after Sos Sargsyan, at the Kazakh National Music and Drama Theater.
