Armenia Suspends CSTO Participation, Citing Unfulfilled Security Agreement
Armenia has announced the suspension of its participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressing concerns over the unmet commitments regarding collective security in relation to Armenia.
Prime Minister Pashinyan highlighted that the agreement on collective security, particularly during the years 2021-2022, had not been fulfilled to Armenia’s satisfaction.
In an interview with France24, he stated, “The lack of implementation of the collective security agreement concerning Armenia, especially during 2021-2022, has not gone unnoticed by us. We have decided to suspend our participation in this treaty. The future course of action remains to be seen.”
