Armenia Not Negotiating EU Membership – Foreign Minister Clarifies
Yerevan is not holding talks with Brussels regarding Armenia's potential accession to the European Union, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.

Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia has not submitted an application for EU membership and no negotiations are underway. Responding to a question from a Russian journalist about reconciling Armenia’s EAEU membership with possible EU integration, the minister dismissed the scenario.
“The Republic of Armenia has not applied for EU membership. There are no negotiations in this direction, and thus, no relevant developments to comment on,” Mirzoyan said.
Lavrov visited Yerevan on a two-day working trip. According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Mirzoyan and Lavrov held both private and expanded talks. During the visit, the two ministers signed a roadmap for bilateral consultations between their ministries for 2025–2026.
