Armed Individuals Storm Police Station in Yerevan’s Nor-Nork District
Unidentified armed individuals forcibly entered a police station situated in the administrative district of Nor-Nork in Yerevan.
In response to the alarming situation, additional police forces, ambulances, emergency services, and specialized units from the Armenian police swiftly mobilized to the scene. The vicinity surrounding the police station was promptly cordoned off to contain the situation.
Narek Sargsyan, the Press Secretary of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, verified the incident. Sargsyan disclosed that among the assailants, two individuals sustained injuries due to the detonation of their own grenade during the altercation.
“Three attackers were involved, and two of them suffered injuries from the explosion caused by their own grenade. One perpetrator remains inside the station, and efforts are underway to neutralize the threat,” stated Sargsyan. Fortunately, preliminary information suggests that none of the police officers were harmed during the attack.
The authorities are actively engaged in resolving the situation and ensuring the safety and security of the area.
