A 4-day work week will be introduced in Kazakhstan

From July 2023, a four-day working week will introduced in Kazakhstan, Turanews.kz reports.

The changes will be introduced into the Labor Code adopted by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On introducing changes and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on social security issues” from July 1.

According to the amendments, in a five-day, six-day, or four-day work week, the general day off is Sunday. The second or third day of rest in a five-day and (or) four-day working week is established in the collective agreement or labor regulations.

“As part of the change, the 4-day, 5-day and 6-day working week will be alternately replaced. For example, if a person works 5 days in a week, then she/he can change it as 4 days in the second week. This work schedule can be fixed at the request of the employee with the consent of the employer. Thus, an employee who works for 4 days will have an additional day off,” the press service of Labor Deparment of the country said.
