14 People Detained in Türkiye on Suspicion of Involvement in Daesh

The General Prosecutor's Office of Türkiye's unit for investigating crimes related to terrorism and organized crime has detained 14 individuals suspected of being associated with the terrorist organization ISIS (banned in Kazakhstan). The detentions took place in several provinces, including Istanbul and Balikesir.

The detained individuals were reportedly working in various mosques and madrassas connected to ISIS. They were involved in recruiting and transporting people to countries where ISIS is active. The suspects also used social media propaganda and provided assistance to needy families to involve ordinary citizens in activities related to the terrorist organization.

Following a resolution by the city prosecutor’s office to detain 17 suspects, law enforcement agencies managed to capture 14 people. Efforts to apprehend the remaining three suspects are ongoing.
