The event will take place in Astana from September 17 to 19, 2024.

The program for the 11th Annual Conference “Petroleum and Gas Chemistry and Oil Refining in Central Asia and the Caspian Sea” has been announced.

This year, the conference will emphasize sustainability, decarbonization, operational efficiency, and innovation in hydrogen production, highlighting their regional significance.

Key speakers and participants include leaders from major oil, gas, and petrochemical companies such as KazMunayGas, KMG PetroChem, Uzbekistan GTL, QazaqGaz, and KPI. Experts in energy, investment, technology, and related fields will also attend.

Topics of discussion will cover the impact of global trends on the regional petrochemical sector, methods for decarbonization, and strategies for enhancing operational efficiency. A dedicated session will explore new projects, investment opportunities, and technological solutions. Detailed presentations will be made on major new projects in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, focusing on investment plans and technological advancements.

Special attention will be given to clean hydrogen production. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has drafted a Concept for the Development of Hydrogen Energy until 2040. These topics will be addressed at a special business summit, “Hydrogen in Central Asia and the Caspian Sea,” preceding the main conference.

The conference is organized by Globuc, with participation details available on the event website.

This annual conference, held for the past 11 years in key cities such as Tashkent, Baku, Almaty, and Astana, serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and presenting innovative technologies among local and international industry players.

Kazakhstan’s government has approved an extensive development plan for the oil and gas industry from 2023 to 2027, encompassing 20 key initiatives with a total investment of $37.3 billion. This solidifies Kazakhstan’s status as a leading global market player and a strategic platform for hosting international industry events.
