President Tokayev Meets with the President of the Russian Federation
According to Akorda, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, where the sides discussed bilateral cooperation as well as interaction within the EAEU and CIS.

Tokayev noted that the program of the traditional year-end meetings was productive and that important issues had been addressed within both the EAEU and CIS formats. He highlighted that 2024 had been a successful year for Kazakhstan–Russia relations and described his 12 November state visit to Russia as highly effective. Tokayev emphasized that strategic partnership and allied cooperation with Russia remain a key priority for Kazakhstan.
President Putin stated that relations between the two countries continue to develop positively across all areas, adding that there are no unresolved or contentious issues between Kazakhstan and Russia. He welcomed the opportunity to discuss priority topics in a separate meeting with Tokayev.
The day before, President Tokayev participated in an informal gathering of CIS heads of state.
