Kazakhstan’s top tennis player Elena Rybakina has advanced to the semifinals of the WTA Finals for the first time in her career, reports Bassport.kz.
Her progression was confirmed after Amanda Anisimova defeated American Madison Keys in a hard-fought three-set battle, winning 4–6, 6–3, 6–2. The result secured Rybakina’s spot among the tournament’s final four players.
Earlier, Rybakina won both of her group-stage matches, defeating Amanda Anisimova and world No. 1 Iga Świątek.
The top two players from each group advance to the semifinals. This marks Rybakina’s third consecutive appearance at the WTA Finals, but it is the first time she has reached the semifinal stage.
