Pashinyan to Run in Armenia’s 2026 Parliamentary Elections
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced his candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for next summer, Kazinform reports.
“In this letter, I hereby submit my candidacy to be included in the proportional list of the Civil Contract party for the 2026 parliamentary elections,” Pashinyan stated in his post on social media.
According to the official schedule, the parliamentary elections in Armenia will take place on June 7, 2026.
The head of the ruling Civil Contract party’s election headquarters has been appointed Araik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister.
Earlier, former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan also announced his intention to take part in the upcoming elections, saying that his team is already preparing for the 2026 campaign.
