Turkic World Opera Night Held in Aktau

On June 15, the city of Aktau hosted a major opera concert as part of the project “Aktau – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025.” The event brought together artists from Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, showcasing the richness of Turkic classical music.

According to the Public Communications Center, the concert aimed to connect audiences through the universal language of art, transcending borders and nationalities.

The evening featured performances by renowned conductor Abilai Tilepbergenov, vocalists such as Yerbolat Akhmedyarov and Rakhad Madreyev, soloists of the Mangystau Regional Philharmonic, and international guests. All works were performed live, accompanied by the Abyl Tarakuly Kazakh Orchestra.

Nurtaş Sali, head of the Mangystau Region’s Culture Department, emphasized the event’s cultural significance: “This opera night is part of a broader international initiative that includes many events. Opera represents the pinnacle of classical music, and we’re honored to present it with such diverse contributions.”

Conductor Abilai Tilepbergenov noted the uniqueness of the evening: “Artists performed pieces from their national repertoires. For example, Kyrgyz singers presented an aria from ‘Manas Batyr,’ Uzbek performers sang from ‘The Case of Maysara,’ while Kazakh artists showcased scenes from ‘Aisulu’ and ‘Birzhan Sal.’”

All participants were presented with special awards.
