Preserving Peace, Security, and Stability
On April 3, consultations were held at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states regarding the organization's international activities and regional security issues. Kazakhstan was represented at the event by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Bakaev.

The delegation heads exchanged views on strengthening regional security, deepening foreign policy coordination among SCO member states in the current international context, and preparing for upcoming high-level meetings within the organization.
Special attention was given to the implementation of agreements reached at the SCO Heads of State Council meeting held on July 4, 2024, in Astana. Discussions covered measures to improve the SCO’s operations, enhance its capacity to address modern challenges and threats, and increase the efficiency of the organization’s structures.
Alibek Bakaev highlighted the growing role and capabilities of the SCO in fostering multilateral regional dialogue. He emphasized the importance of intensifying joint efforts for the swift and full implementation of agreements reached at the Astana Summit and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness for close cooperation on various aspects of the organization’s reform.
As part of his visit, Alibek Bakaev also held a bilateral meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further expansion and strengthening of bilateral cooperation, as well as collaboration in multilateral formats, particularly within the SCO and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
