Baku Outlines Key Conditions for Peace Agreement with Yerevan
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has stated that a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan can only be reached if armed provocations on the border are halted and Armenia amends its Constitution to eliminate territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

— We reaffirm our principled stance that signing the text of the peace agreement must include a constitutional amendment in Armenia, removing any territorial claims against Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, — said Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ayxan Hajizade.
He recalled that Azerbaijan was the one to initiate peace talks in early 2022, taking the first steps towards an agreement, while Armenia sought to disrupt the process.
The ministry representative also pointed out that Yerevan has yet to fulfill its commitments regarding the opening of transport communications and continues military buildup in border areas, which contradicts the peace agenda.
— Ceasing border shooting incidents and provocative actions by Armenian military personnel is a necessary condition for stability. Azerbaijan also expects clarifications from Armenia regarding the deployment of offensive weapons and the accumulation of armed forces in border areas, — the statement said.
Furthermore, Baku is calling for the formal dissolution of the outdated and ineffective Minsk Group and related OSCE structures.
Earlier, the Armenian Prime Minister’s office accused Baku of violating the ceasefire in a public statement.
