On November 4, 2024, in Bishkek, a draft law on ratification of the framework agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Development Bank on the financing plan until 2025 was submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh for consideration.
According to the document, in 2025, the ADB will preliminarily finance the following projects and programs in the Kyrgyz Republic:
— Financing of the project on water resources management, resilient to climate change and natural disasters (proposed funding of $40 million);
— Project to expand access to affordable and energy-efficient housing ($65 million);
— Climate-responsive reform, PBL ($50 million);
— Project for the reconstruction of low-carbon municipal buildings in Bishkek under SEFF 2 (Sustainable Energy Financing Facility) ($3 million);
— Activity “Development of a business service center” under SEFF 2 (Sustainable Energy Financing Facility) ($1 million);
— Project for the development of the renewable energy sector (floating solar panels at 5 hydropower plants) under SEFF 2 (Sustainable Energy Financing Facility) ($530 thousand);
— Almaty-Bishkek Economic Corridor: Project to Improve Regional Border Services ($37.5 million);
— Energy efficiency in public buildings ($25 million).
