International University of Turkic States to Open in Tashkent

Tashkent is set to welcome a new higher education institution, the International University of Turkic States, following a presidential decree by Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The university aims to train professionals in various fields, including engineering, construction, logistics, IT and programming, healthcare, agriculture, the food industry, economics, and social sciences, all in accordance with international educational standards.

As a non-governmental higher education institution, the university will operate within the framework of Uzbekistan’s educational legislation.

“Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the university’s curriculum will be based on programs from Turkish higher education institutions ranked among the top 1,000 globally by internationally recognized rating agencies and leading in their respective fields,” the decree states.

The institution will follow a tuition-based model, with admission parameters and tuition fees determined by the university itself. The establishment of this university represents a significant step in strengthening educational ties among Turkic-speaking nations and expanding academic opportunities in Uzbekistan.
