Turkmenistan and China Strengthen Cooperation in Oil Industry Training

Turkmenistan and China are set to enhance their partnership in training specialists for the oil industry, following a new agreement between the two nations.

The International University of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan has signed a memorandum with four Chinese organizations to establish the Lu Ban Workshop in Turkmenistan, according to Trend, citing Chinese sources.

This collaboration is part of the agreements reached during the first Central Asia-China summit. The initiative is led by Xi’an Petroleum University, with participation from Hebei Petroleum Vocational and Technical University, the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and the China Association for International Education Exchange.

The Lu Ban Workshop aims to train both academic and practical specialists in fields such as geology and information technology, while promoting the exchange of teachers, students, and scientific data. Wu Yingqin, Executive Director of the Central Asia-China Cooperation Mechanism, highlighted that the project will address the demand for skilled professionals in local enterprises, improve graduate employment, and strengthen ties between the two countries.

This initiative follows the successful opening of a Lu Ban Workshop in Kazakhstan in 2023.
