Putin Meets with Turkish Foreign Minister

On June 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, according to the Kremlin press service.

During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that relations between Türkiye and Russia are developing very successfully. This was reported by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on its social media account.

Fidan noted that there are still steps both countries need to take in the area of trade.

Diplomatic sources from the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported that Fidan conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Russian leader.

The Turkish Foreign Minister also emphasized Ankara’s strong commitment to continue its comprehensive mediation efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.

Furthermore, Fidan highlighted that Türkiye is making all necessary efforts to maintain the policy of establishing stability in Syria, initiated by the leaders of Türkiye and Russia.

He mentioned that he had the opportunity to discuss these issues during his meetings in Moscow and added that “there are several topics he would like to raise” during his meeting with Putin.

Hakan Fidan arrived in Russia to participate in the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
