The meeting saw the participation of key figures from the ministries of culture representing the foundation’s member countries.
Established in 2015 under the auspices of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and with backing from the leadership of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation aims to spearhead initiatives aimed at preserving, researching, and promoting the rich cultural legacy of Turkic peoples.
Addressing the council, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli underscored the foundation’s ambitious agenda in charting new avenues relevant to the Turkic world while addressing contemporary global and regional challenges.
Raimkulova, President of the Aktoty Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, outlined the achievements and unveiled plans for the foundation’s activities for the years 2024-2025.
The council members unanimously endorsed the foundation’s work plan, anticipating a revitalized momentum in its endeavors.
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balaeva, hailed the foundation as a beacon of unity among Turkic states on the global stage. She emphasized its role in fostering closer ties among Turkic cultures and nations, citing cultural and scientific exchanges facilitated by the foundation.
Balaeva extended an invitation to a forthcoming scientific conference in Kazakhstan focused on the petroglyphs of Tambala, aiming to gather scholars from across the Turkic world.
Furthermore, Balaeva proposed a comprehensive review of various Turkic cultural organizations to streamline efforts in preserving and promoting Turkic heritage. She advocated for the establishment of a unified body tasked with assessing monuments, overseeing restoration efforts, and advocating for their inclusion in UNESCO’s prestigious list.
In parallel, Balaeva participated in the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue held in Baku, alongside President Ilham Aliyev. The forum, attended by representatives from over 110 countries, delved into critical topics ranging from education and youth empowerment to climate change and the protection of cultural heritage.
