The Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with the Center for Disaster Medicine, provides essential support to flood-prone areas. Psychologists offer round-the-clock assistance via a hotline, handling 1,857 calls. Erasyl Saipash, a senior officer, shared updates during a briefing.
Progress includes diverting water from 3,709 buildings and 2,475 courtyards, allowing 16,000 people to return home. However, 6,950 individuals, including 3,113 children, remain in evacuation centers. Efforts have led to the rescue of 116,949 people, 40,781 children, and 112,539 farm animals.
“The efforts to address flood aftermath, along with anti-flood measures and emergency rescue operations, continue. Over 9.8 million cubic meters of melted water have been pumped out, and more than 2.9 million bags and 1.4 million tons of inert material have been deployed. The devastation includes 5,837 private homes, 1,353 yards, and 3,124 rural houses across Akmola, Aktobe, Kostanay, Atyrau, and North Kazakhstan regions. A combined force of 46,417 personnel, 4,351 units of equipment, 873 water pumps, 308 floats, and 16 aircraft are engaged in these efforts,” stated Erasyl Saipash.
Additionally, in 8 regions of the country – Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Karaganda, Atyrau, North Kazakhstan regions, and Ulytau regions, 38 local emergency situations are being addressed.
