Kazakh Minister Bagdat Mussin Engages with SpaceX on Starlink Expansion

Bagdat Mussin, Kazakhstan's Minister of Digital Development, recently held discussions with SpaceX's Director of Global Communications and Activation, Rebecca Hunter, regarding the expansion of Starlink technology in the country. The meeting also addressed plans to provide broadband internet to rural schools and advance digital projects.

During the session, Mussin and Hunter explored strategies for implementing Starlink technology in Kazakhstan, particularly focusing on equipping rural schools with high-speed internet access. As part of their engagement, SpaceX representatives visited one such school in the village of Shubar.

Expressing optimism about the collaboration, Minister Mussin stated, “I was pleased to discuss the implementation of the Space X project on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

Currently, 447 rural schools across Kazakhstan are connected to the internet using Starlink technology. Following the installation of terminals, these schools enjoy an average internet speed of 200 Mbit/s, enhancing educational opportunities for students in remote areas.
