Kazakh President Holds Meeting with Russian Counterpart in Kazan

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, recently convened with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan, TuraNews.kz reports citing the Akorda press service.

During the meeting, President Tokayev expressed gratitude to President Putin for extending the invitation to visit Kazan and commended the inaugural “Future Games” international tournament, highlighting its innovative blend of IT intelligence and sports.

Tokayev proposed hosting the next edition of the “Future Games” in Kazakhstan to continue fostering the initiative initiated by Russia.

Reflecting on the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, President Tokayev emphasized the fruitful cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, underlining the significant achievements made despite challenging circumstances. He commended President Putin’s leadership in shaping the global agenda and noted the tangible progress in implementing agreements reached during President Putin’s state visit to Kazakhstan in November last year.

In response, President Putin expressed appreciation for President Tokayev’s presence at the “Future Games” opening ceremony and reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to bolstering the strategic partnership with Kazakhstan. Stressing the importance of sports as a unifying force, Putin emphasized the significance of bilateral relations in vital areas such as energy, investment, and regional development.

The leaders also engaged in discussions on regional and global issues of mutual interest during their meeting.
