Cooperation Agreement Signed between OTG and TIKA

In a ceremony held at the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) secretariat building in Istanbul, a significant step towards collaboration was marked with the signing of a “Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding” between OTG Secretary General Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev and TİKA President Serkan Kayalar.

Omuraliev highlighted the significance of the memorandum, describing it as the commencement of a strategic partnership focused on fostering cooperation, sharing information, and exchanging experiences. The OTG Secretary General emphasized the comprehensive framework established between OTG and TIKA, where common interests and desires for regional development align.

“The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is clear—to strengthen cooperation, develop regional partnerships, and collaboratively find solutions to the challenges faced by our member states. Through this cooperation, we aim to contribute to internationally agreed development goals, including the Sustainable Development Goals, and have a positive impact on the socioeconomic landscape of the region,” stated Omuraliev.

He underlined that the memorandum reflects a determination to address various aspects of development across multiple cooperation areas, from health and education to trade and the environment, creating synergies for positive outcomes.

TIKA President Serkan Kayalar acknowledged the special importance of the Turkic world, emphasizing TIKA’s role in the region since its founding in 1992. He noted the remarkable progress the Turkic world has achieved in institutional and regional terms, expressing satisfaction with its growing influence in economic and global affairs.

Kayalar emphasized the crucial role of OTG in the Turkic world, praising their valuable work at various levels within the member states. As TIKA, he mentioned the presence of offices in all member and observer countries, emphasizing the importance of the signed memorandum as a significant step towards joint projects in various areas of development cooperation within OTG member countries.

Referring to the “Turkic World 2040 Vision,” Kayalar expressed confidence that projects outlined in the memorandum would contribute to this vision and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. The signed agreement marks a pivotal moment in the collaboration between OTG and TIKA, signaling a commitment to joint development projects and shared aspirations for the future.
