A firefighting helicopter with four people on board crashed into a dam while responding to a forest fire in western Izmir province, Turkey, on September 16, 2023, Turanews.kz reports.
Three of the crew members were citizens of Kyrgyzstan. One crew member was hospitalized, while search operations are underway for the remaining three crew members.
The helicopter was participating in efforts to extinguish a forest fire in the Menderes region, near the city of Izmir, when it crashed into the Tahtali dam.
