Production of cars in Kazakhstan increases almost by a third
The production of domestic vehicles has increased almost by one-third in the six months of the current year. It accounts for over 51,500 vehicles with a total value exceeding 507 billion tenge. Cars account for the majority of this number – approximately 47,000 units, and about 4,000 units of freight transport. They are mainly produced at Kostanai’s plant, this year there has been a 33,5-percent increase in production , that is approximately 32,000 vehicles. Whereas the plant in Almaty produces half as much. The rest of the domestic automotive industry falls on the factories in Semei and Kokshetau. According to the Kazakhstan Auto Business Association, nowadays cars of the U.S, South Korean, Russian and Chinese brands are popular among Kazakh residents. The country exports its vehicles to such countries as Uzbekistan, Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. It is worth noting that this year it grew by 23 percent.
