Fire breaks out in Astana region, dozens of people involved in extinguishing
A fire that broke out near Astana, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday has been localized, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The fire, which started in a reed bed, has burned an area of 80 hectares, Turanews.kz reports.
Thirty-four people and eight pieces of equipment have been involved in extinguishing the fire. Employees of the Department of Emergency Situations (DChS) of the capital have been working to contain the fire.
The Public Health Department of Astana has appealed to the residents of the capital to refrain from going outside unnecessarily. The smoke from the fire is causing respiratory problems for some people.
There have been no casualties reported in the fire. Firefighters are continuing to work to extinguish the fire.
