An oil depot in Shopokov, Kyrgyzstan, caught fire on Tuesday evening, injuring four people, Turanews.kz reports.
The fire was caused by an explosion in one of the tanks, according to the Ministry of Health of the country. The injured were all workers at the depot. One victim is in serious condition and is being treated in the intensive care unit. The other three victims are in moderate condition and are being treated in the traumatology department.
A team of doctors was sent from Bishkek to Shopokov to help with the medical response. Three ambulances were also dispatched to the scene.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said that it is providing all necessary medical care to the victims. The ministry also said that it is working to ensure that the fire does not spread to other areas.
