5th Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intellectuals Forum was held in Turkestan

On September 17th,  with the support of the International Turkic Academy, the 5th Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intellectuals Forum was held in the village of Kenesaryk in the Tölebi District of Turkistan Province.

This year’s forum is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Turkish scholar and intellectual Bekasil Bibolatuli, the grandson of Turk Aksakal Tölebi, who represents the Kazakh-Kyrgyz brotherhood. Before the meeting, the participants visited Bekasil Baba’s tomb and observed a moment of silence.

The Forum was attended by Kazakh President’s Advisor Malik Otarbaev,  Deputy Sautbek Abdrahmanov, doctor of political sciences Yerjan Isakulov, statesman and intellectual Amageldi Tshanov, Deputy Governor of Turkestan Province Saken Kalkamanov, national poet Kocogeldi Kultegin and together with the Kyrgyz delegation headed by former Parliament speaker Zaynidin Kurmanov and also well-known scientists, academicians, heads of scientific institutions, representatives of intellectuals, and representatives of the press of Kazakh-Kyrgyz Republics.

During the conference, Kazakh-Kyrgyz intellectuals shared their thoughts and views on Bekasil Bibotauli’s work “Zikzal”.

Malik Otarbaev, who came to the meeting specially, conveyed the congratulations of the President of Kazakhstan Kasım Jomart Tokayev.

President Tokayev, “Zikzal” work, which was born in the sacred lands of Turkistan and contributed greatly to the development of national spirituality, is an invaluable national heritage for our nation. Famous Jüsip Köpeyulı, one of the great leaders of Kazakh spirituality, accepted Bekasil Bibolatulı as his master and evaluated his work “Zikzal” as a valuable scientific work.

Turkish Academy expert social scientist Akedil Toyshanuly conveyed the congratulatory letter of the Academy administration and shared a briefing on “National Tradition in the Epic of Er Eshim”. In addition, he talked about the heroic epics of Bekasil Bibolatuli named “Zikzal” published by the Turkish Academy and the heroic epics of “Er Eshim” and “Canish-Bayish” translated into Kazakh under the editorship of Turcologist Kadyrali Konkobaev and shared his thoughts on the similarities in the literature of the two brotherly folks.

The performances of Kazakh and Kyrgyz artists were admired by the participants.

The Turkish scholar Bekasil Bibolatuli, who lived in the 21st century, was educated in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Karnak and Sayram, and in the country of Damascus. The scholar, who has a deep knowledge of theology, has done research in the fields of astronomy, mathematics and philosophy, and is also well-known in medicine, and his work in these fields has survived to the present day with the book ‘Zikzal’.

Let us remind you that the first forum of Kazakh-Kyrgyz intellectuals was held in Astana in April 2018 with the initiative of the Turkish Academy and then the event, which contributed greatly to the cooperation of the two countries, continued with the second in Osh city of Kyrgyzstan in October of the same year. The Third Forum which dedicated to the epic ‘Manas’, the eternal legacy of the Great Steppe and to the eminent scholar Shokan Valikhanov, was held in Jetisu Province. The fourth meeting was held in Bishkek in 2019  before the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kasim Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan.
