Free online Kazakh language courses launched for Kandas people
Otandastar Foundation once again launches free online Kazakh courses. They are provided both for ethnic Kazakhs living abroad and willing to learn the language, and foreign nationals. The unique project kicked off in 2019. While only about 300 people completed the courses over three years, then since the beginning of 2022, the situation has improved. The number of applications submitted so far increased three-fold. In addition, the free online Kazakh language courses are now available for those who speak English, Russian, Turkish and Persian.
“We start the courses from elementary levels, such as A1, A2, and also B1. Most of our students are from Russia, Turkey, Europe and the U.S. One of our groups has Dimash Kudaibergen’s fans, who call themselves Dimash’s Dears. They join us regularly. Also, as part of the project, we hold various competitions. We are planning to launch one for children entitled ‘Dostar alany’. The details will be posted on our website and social media,” shared Yenlik Berdirakhmanova, manager of the Kandas people support department of the Otandastar Foundation.
