Zainutdinov plays for Besiktas in Conference League Opener

Turkish team Besiktas, with Kazakh midfielder Bakhtier Zainutdinov in their ranks, drew 1-1 with Belgian side Club Brugge in their first match of the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage on Thursday, Turanews.kz reports.

Brugge took the lead in the 77th minute through captain Hans Vanaken, but Besiktas equalized in the 88th minute through Cenk Tosun.

Zainutdinov made his debut in the Conference League group stage, coming on as a substitute in the 66th minute.

In the other Group D match, Swiss side Lugano and Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt drew 0-0.

Besiktas will host Lugano in their second group match on the night of October 6.
