Besiktas defeated Dynamo Kiev 3-2 in the first leg of the playoff round of the UEFA Conference League on August 24. The match was held at the Giulesti – Valentin Stanescu stadium in Bucharest, Turanews.kz reports.
Vincent Abubakar scored the opening goal for Besiktas in the 40th minute from the penalty spot after Denis Popov handled the ball in the penalty area. Mykola Shaparenko equalized for Dynamo in the 60th minute, but Omar Kolli restored Besiktas’ lead in the 64th minute. Nazar Voloshin equalized again for Dynamo in the 66th minute, but Kazakhstani Baktiyor Zainutdinov scored the winning goal for Besiktas in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
The second leg of the playoff round will be played in Kiev on August 31. The winner of the tie will advance to the group stage of the Conference League.
