In a recent Tennis Europe series tournament held in Istanbul, young Kazakhstani tennis players showcased impressive skills and emerged victorious in various categories. The tournament, belonging to the third category and featuring players under 14 years old, witnessed commendable performances from the Kazakhstani contingent, TuraNews.kz reports citing the KTF press service.
Robert Kaminsky, representing Kazakhstan in the singles category, demonstrated a strong performance by reaching the final. However, in the title-deciding match, Kaminsky faced tough competition from Russian player Nikita Berdin, ultimately losing with a score of 1:6, 2:6,
The doubles category saw an exciting Kazakhstan derby between the pairs Alexander Sofrygin/Egor Sorokin and Ansar Nietkaliv/Zhantore Sanjaruly. In a thrilling three-set match, Alexander and Egor emerged victorious with a score of 1:6, 6:3, 10:8. The girls’ doubles event featured Ruslana Ruslanova, partnered with Russian player Victoria Khasttsaeva, who unfortunately lost to Tatyana Golovina/Maria Maslyakova with a score of 6:2, 5:7, 6:10.
Meanwhile, Grigory Lomakin achieved the status of finalist in the ITF M15 doubles tournament held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Lomakin, paired with Russian player Evgeny Filippov, competed fiercely in the final but faced defeat against the British duo of Ben Jones/David Stevenson in two sets, with a total score of 6:7 (5:7), 6:7 (2:7).
