XI International Short Film Festival “Kyrgyzstan – a country of short films” concluded in Bishkek

The XI International Short Film Festival “Kyrgyzstan – a country of short films” concluded in Bishkek on July 21, Turanews.kz reports.

The festival was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic. It was attended by filmmakers from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, and other countries.

The jury praised the high quality of the films that were screened at the festival. They said that the films showed the diversity of talent and creativity in the Central Asian region.

The jury awarded prizes to the following films:

  • Best film of the national competition: “Road” by Tolomush Zhanybekov (Kyrgyzstan)
  • Best film of the international competition: “Lullaby for Stanislav” by Anna Gertman (Belarus)
  • Best production: “Romeo” by Tynystan Temirzhan uulu (Kyrgyzstan)
  • Best staging: “The House We Lived in” by Andrey Krechetov (Russia)
  • Special jury prize of the national competition: “Salvador Dali” by Eldiyar Madakim (Kyrgyzstan)
  • Special jury prize of the international competition: “Lullaby” by Dilshat Rakhmatullin (Kazakhstan)
  • Audience award of the national competition: “Colors of Melancholy” by Karash Zhanyshov
  • Audience award of the international competition: “The soldier is alive” by Sherzod Nazarov (Uzbekistan)
  • Special jury diploma for popularizing the theme of national traditions: “Alaman” by Ilgiz Sherniyaz and Sooronbek Turgunmamat uulu (Kyrgyzstan)
  • Special jury diploma for the figurative display of the theme of the army: “Warrior” by Amanbek Azhymat

The festival organizers said that they were pleased with the success of the event. They said that the festival helped to promote short films from Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian countries.

They also said that they planned to continue the festival in the future.
