Winter tourist season officially opened in Kyrgyzstan
The winter tourist season 2022-2023 has officially opened in Kyrgyzstan. The grand opening of the winter season took place on Saturday at the ZIL ski base near Bishkek.
The event was organized by the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic together with domestic and international partners.
It was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, Head of the Ministry of Culture Altynbek Maksutov, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, domestic partners, tourists.
Edil Baisalov noted that winter tourism is one of the most important areas of the country’s economy.
“Kyrgyzstan is an ideal place in the world for practicing various types of tourism. There is everything that an experienced tourist needs here, these are the most beautiful mountain gorges, fabulous lakes, swift rivers, glaciers and impregnable snowy passes,” he added.
As part of the event, entertainment for skiing enthusiasts, various competitions among vacationers, a concert program with the participation of artists and many other interesting events with the opportunity to win various prizes were organized.
There are 23 ski bases in Kyrgyzstan, 17 are currently operating. They are located mainly in the Chui and Issyk-Kul regions.
