The Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries is planning to build two logistics centers in Kyrgyzstan, according to the company’s founder, Tatyana Bakalchuk. The centers will be located in the Chuy region, in the north of the country, and will create up to 6,000 jobs, Turanews.kz reports.
The company is currently considering the possibility of building a large logistics center in the Chui region. The center would have an area of 100-150 thousand square meters and would create about 5-6 thousand jobs.
The construction of the logistics center is expected to begin no earlier than in a year.
The investment is part of Wildberries’ expansion into Central Asia. The company already has a presence in Kazakhstan, and it is planning to open stores in other countries in the region, including Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
The construction of the logistics centers in Kyrgyzstan is expected to begin next year. The centers will be used to store and distribute goods that are sold on Wildberries’ website. The company expects that the centers will help to improve the delivery times for customers in Kyrgyzstan.
